Katia Berezovskaya
Katia Berezovskaya’s practice explores emotion through natural objects and materials, harnessing their resonance to evoke visceral responses and provoke reflection. Nature’s fragility, beauty, and transience inspire her work - a stone, branch, or stream carries narratives of strength, impermanence, and brilliance. These elements symbolise universal human experiences: love, loss, fear, and compassion. We bear the marks of these experiences as scars and wrinkles, shaping who we are. Many materials Katia uses carry traces of past lives, weaving individual and collective histories into her art.
At its core, her work examines boundaries - life and death, real and imagined, personal and collective. Memories and imagined realities blur, shaped by time and desire. Her creations evoke otherworldliness, inviting deeper reflection on the familiar. She explores transformation, highlighting how objects and beings retain traces of their existence.
