Painter and mixed media artist known for her vibrant use of colour and expressive mark making. Often coastal and landscape, the works dance between figurative and abstract with a sense of the natural world. Inspired by experiencing the outdoors and letting the sights imprint ideas that then influence work in the studio.
It was both a joy and a privilege to take part in The Great Paignton Paint Out during September 2023. As a landscape artist I was totally in my element sketching and painting 'en plein air' and as a local, it was wonderful to be part of such a community celebration of our heritage. Many conversations were had with interested passers by and it was fantastic to meet others who were exploring and joining in with the TGPPO trail. Paignton Harbour was the perfect location to sketch with stunning views and plenty of points of interest. I met folks at TGPPO that were drawn to my colour palette and compositions that have since become friends and now fellow art-making companions. Being surrounded by people of all ages creating their own art on Paignton Green was a true joy! I love to capture the rocks of Tor Bay so the opportunity to paint Thatcher Rock and Ore Stone from the green was awesome. The event was truly inspiring as a collaboration of organisers, volunteers, artists and participants. Introductions were made, reunions took place, places celebrated and art was created. Since the event I have been told of attendees who were inspired to break out their paints again (after many years of being untouched), others joined art groups and some even started up a Paignton 'en plein air' art group. I continue to develop work started at the event as I explore Torbay landscapes in my own art practice
