Ann Chester King
Ann Chester King lives and works in Devon a painter of landscapes, figurative work and facilitating a range of community projects and workshops.
Ann is both a landscape and figurative artist. Her most recent landscape projects have involved working in the wonderful reedbeds on the river Dart developing a body of work for an exhibition titled ‘Opposite Banks ‘. Recently Ann has been drawn to painting the ‘Tide Lines’ the constantly changing landscape of the shoreline.
In 2018 in collaboration with the Judiciary at Plymouth Crown Court and Plymouth Art School Ann worked with students to produce work informed by several court visits for an exhibition held in the public areas of the Court-the first court in the UK to do so.
Ann in 2019 worked with local children’s group as part of the Dartmouth 400 (Mayflower project), involving Children in a variety of creative projects to gain insight into the experience of the ‘child pilgrims’ on the Mayflower and parallels with children today who similarly have fled persecution.
Ann has been involved in producing and facilitating a series of art workshops for Somerset Recovery College which is a part of Somerset Health and Mental Well Being (NHS) providing creative opportunities for adults recovering and living with mental illness.
Her work has been shown widely in the southwest and exhibited regularly at the Woman Artists shows in London and the Royal West of England Academy.
