Monotype by Anita Reynolds

My prints explore the integral connection between place and the human condition; in particular the scarring and subsequent healing of the landscape. When producing my work I divide my time between working on site, a mix of sketching and printmaking; and
developing ideas back in my studio.
The outside work has the excitement and vigorous marks that are a result of an emotional and visual response to place. Rapidly changing light and weather conditions require me to work quickly, forcing me to focus on the essential details. Back in the studio I use the studies and memory to develop my multi-layered monotypes.Monotype | Signed on reverse.
