Shattered

 

My chosen theme for my A2 Level Photography exam is, 'A Different Perspective'. Perspective is the art of representing three-dimensional objects on a two-dimensional surface so as to give the right impression of their height, width, depth and position in relation to each other.

 

Through these images my aim was to present how our perspective, opinions and beliefs on certain aspects can be shattered because of what we experience in life. I thought about this idea during lockdown, seeing all the protests, watching our world becoming ill and realising things get ruined when people get involved.

 

This idea I have of a shattered reality suggests how fragile we can be. How weak us humans are and perhaps how easily we can be destroyed. I chose to smash a mirror to represent us looking at ourselves and how broken our society is, how we break things. Perhaps how instead of blaming the virus for our problems we should be blaming ourselves because we are the virus.
