Sea Haze

My work is inspired by nature. Living near the coast, I am surrounded by beauty. Walking and observing is part of my daily practice: rocks, shells, the sky, quirky boats, and colourful buoys, or plant life and florals on countryside woodland walks are just a few of my painting inspirations. As the weather and seasons change, every day offers different views and ideas. 

 

My style is exploratory and continues to evolve. I am a mixed media painter and in my process, I often incorporate collaged elements and texture. My current work is mostly non-representational, and I work intuitively to capture the essence of a moment or feeling. I create compositions instinctively, building layers using a variety of brushes and tools. My pieces reveal unique marks and detail along with a carefully considered colour palette.
