Rip Curl

Karen has been working with glass for over 20 years having gained first class honours from the University of Hertfordshire where she is now a visiting lecturer. She has also previously sat on the committee for The Contemporary Glass Society. Most of her work is for either private or public commissions, including work for Essex County Council, Hertfordshire County Council, and work displayed at both Heathrow and Gatwick airports. Her work has been shown on the tv shows Property Ladder and House Wreck Rescue, and a notable highlight was a presentation to HRH Prince Phillip.

 

Karen enjoys pushing the boundaries of glass and exploring new methods of production and ways of maximising the interplay between glass and light. Karen has recently moved to The South Hams and set up a new glass studio at The Clay Factory near Ivybridge, where she plans to run workshops.
