Gudrun Taresch
Gudrun Taresch is a Glass, Silk and Mixed Media Artist. She has lived in Munich, Berlin, Northern Norway and now lives in Cornwall, and has been inspired by history, culture and the nature of all these places and their surroundings. Her work has been influenced by her journeys to European Countries as well as the US, New Zealand, Egypt and Japan, where the Japanese and Italian art has had the most significant impact on her work. Her scientific career in Astronomy is also reflected in her work as well as her interest in art, history, culture, psychology, and politics. Also, her everlasting dialogue with her inner self and other people, whom she works with as a coach and mediator. Working in glass, textiles and mixed media, Gudrun develops a range of work which reflects what she has experienced across the world.
“‘I went on a journey to understand the World, Physics, History, Culture, Psychology, Politics; travelled all over Europe, the US, New Zealand, Egypt and Japan; lived in Munich, Berlin, Northern Norway and Cornwall. Always curious, always searching for – what? I think the human soul, my soul. Our place in the World, my place in the World?
All this is reflected in my art, which is a journey through media, Charcoal, Oil, Acrylic, Watercolours, Textiles, Glass, a journey through thoughts and emotions.
The urge to express myself through my art is stronger now than ever - my way of staying sane in this insane World around me, CREATIVITY as the only remaining FREEDOM in a locked down and suffocated World full of destruction, greed, information overload and fear, fear, fear.
Reaching out for COOPERATION - cooperative art projects emerge - learning from each other we nurture each other – to create A BETTER WORLD.”
