Sculpture by Bev Knowlden
Hardly Sprung
Bev Knowlden
After graduating with a degree in Graphic Design in the 1980s, I carved out a long and satisfying career in set designing and prop-making for stop-frame animation TV shows.
I now concentrate on more artful sculpting, with portraits of humans and animals, which are often described as haunting and evocative in a curious, unusual style.
I sculpt in clay from life and photographs. These finished models are moulded and cast in various resins, often combined with materials such as jute and reclaimed metal.
As an artist, I love experimentation and exploring the limitless potential of the creative process.
One of my series of 'Wraiths' featuring a section of a face balanced on a metal spring.
