I am a painter, printmaker and Art Therapist working primarily in abstract form and using a variety of media. Ideas evolve from walking in the landscape, and centre on man-made objects within the landscape- field shapes, footprints, footpaths, ancient sites, layering of the earth and ‘found objects’ within the ground. Scraped off layers of paint reveal earlier surfaces, while repeated shapes hint at a hidden symbolism.When I start painting, I never know where it will go…. for me, the joy is in ‘not knowing’, taking risks and being open to all that might occur.
