I first encountered kiln formed glass on an Art Foundation course in 2000 and was immediately captivated by the process. A 3D glass course in London over three years gave me the necessary skills and experience to set up a studio at my home in Oxford. I exhibited at Art in Action for 3 years and in 2019 I was commissioned by a garden designer to make a large window for a show garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. I am also a member of the Oxford Art Society, the Oxfordshire Craft Guild, the Contemporary Glass Society, Just Glass and the Society of Designer Craftsmen and regularly show work in their exhibitions.
The alchemy of mixing glass and metal in the form of leaf, foil and wire gives me constant inspiration to experiment with new designs and provides me with a distinctive colour palette.
Float glass layered with metal leaf, foil and wire then kiln fired to produce a range of painterly colours.
