Change is Coming, Can You Feel It?
Linden Lynn
Creativity, for me is a box of delights, a mindful time, when I feel most connected to the moment, and this immersive experience helps fuel my work.
Over the years, I have drawn inspiration from the French Impressionists and Post Impressionists, particularly Van Gogh, and Expressionists like Kandinsky. Their exploration of emotion through colour has left a lasting impact on my approach to art. More recently, I’ve been captivated by fluid acrylic techniques, where the unpredictability of flowing colour offers a variety of responses. It is the power of colour, its ability to enhance, express emotion, challenge perceptions, and highlight observation, that has drawn me toward working with a wide variety of paint techniques.
Art is a space where we’re free to be curious, to reflect, and to explore the world as we see or feel it. Sometimes, it is about absorbing the beauty around us or capturing something unexpected. Other times, it’s about addressing troubling concerns, focusing attention on issues that matter. Artistic expression gives me the opportunity to venture into unexplored areas - a window into another world, a pocket in which to keep precious moments.
Creativity can open a multitude of styles and explorations. My art is a space where I can reach into deep emotions, scale the heights of joy, and celebrate colour, mood, and existence. It also allows me to step into strange, otherworldly realms, dancing on the edge of reason. There are moments in the creative process when colour, technique, and design converge in a way that feels almost unconscious, where the result just feels right.
Art offers each of us a distinct relationship with the world, enabling us to create images that are uniquely our own. Through my work, I hope to communicate and engage with my audience, sparking delight, inspiration, or reflection. My goal is to build a bridge through art, one that allows us to see new glimpses of reality together.
