Celebrating Light
Rosemary Bonney
Rosemary is known primarily as a Dartmoor landscape painter for her work in oils, acrylics and mixed media. However, her quest for abstraction has led her back to her long-term interest in photography and more specifically to alternative methods of photography which offer a wide range of techniques to explore.
One of these is Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) photography where the image is taken using a slow shutter speed with intentional camera movement while the shutter is open. In this instance one is looking for colours, textures, lines or a strong focal point etc. to create an artistic effect.
Most of my images in this exhibition have involved the use of a light source be it a sunset, bonfires or Christmas decorative lights. Others have been created in the landscape simply taking advantage of low light conditions to allow a slow shutter speed.
The images were taken with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-G80 four/thirds mirrorless camera using a Panasonic Lumix G Vario 14-140mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH lens.
