My work reflects my passion for the environment and nature, being a keen ‘Friend of the Earth’ for many years. I have found inspiration in the many forms and colours of the natural world. I am also fascinated by the work of some of the great Art Nouveau Pate de Verre artists and their use of flowers, insects and other natural forms so creatively in their work. And so I find myself drawn to experiment with natural colours and forms to create my own version of the natural world in glass.
I mostly work using the Pate de Verre technique creating bowls and small ornaments. But I have more recently expanded my use of squisher moulds to create small boxes with recycled wood lids. I attend adult education classes and find the exposure to other students work inspiring and always provides new ideas to incorporate into my work.
