Helen Coakes-Blundell
I have just graduated from Plymouth College of Art with a BA (Hons) in Painting, Drawing and Printmaking.
I moved from Somerset as a mature student, and I intend to commence teacher training in September 2020. I am now embarking on an Artist Residency at RedPod Studios in Ivybridge, which I won at my degree show.
I will be creating a body of work for exhibitions next year, and I welcome studio visits both at The Clay Factory and at my home studio in St Judes in Plymouth.
I paint intuitively, often from memory, recording moods and responses to both natural and societal events. I am very interested in psychology and the human connection with the natural world. I feel that we are moving ever further away from our natural state and this disturbs me deeply.
