Calm Before The Storm
Alexandra Robb
I am currently living and working in West London with plans to move to South Devon as soon as I can. I am a painter /printmaker and my focus is almost exclusively on the natural world, using my work as a means to raise awareness of both the beauty of nature and the threats that it encounters.
I have worked mainly in print for the past few years, producing both linoprints, into which I often introduce collage elements, as well as wood engravings. This year my linoprint 'Calm Before the Storm' (featuring a crow sitting on the sea wall with Torbay behind it) was on show at the Royal Academy Summer Show and has been chosen to feature in their 2024 calendar.
I am currently working on a series of linoprints on similar themes to Calm Before the Storm as well as continuing my practice as a wood engraver. My latest wood engraving 'Waters Edge' has been accepted for the 2024 Society of Wood Engravers exhibition, opening in London in February and hopefully coming to Devon at some point during the year.
