Sue Coleman is a creative artist and printmaker, having been a Theatre Production Manager and Cultural Services Manager in local government for thirty-five years, she is now concentrating on her own creative artwork. Sue works in several mediums including pencil, watercolour and pen and ink. Sue has a foundation in art but trained in ceramics and printmaking in recent years. “I am inspired by what is happening around me in the moment and the memories of things I have seen and experienced. Each memory and subject have a deep meaning to me, particularly the landscapes I have shared with my late husband around the world. I feel challenged by the injustices I see happening and the cruelty we find in the current crisis. My latest work expresses my feelings of isolation and my reaction to current issues challenging the world particularly that of the images we falsely portray. I work in a range of mediums but am passionate about printmaking in particular the structure of traditional etching techniques and the freedom of collagraph printmaking. I have been working in collaboration with artists combining art forms to create new and exciting work.”
