Brixham And The Gulls (iv)
Rachel McLaughlin
After many years of teaching to support my practice, I have finely decided to commit full time to my art. Inspired by my home in Devon and my Asian travels, with a strength in observational work, I have recently progressed to abstraction. The culture and environment of China, Vietnam, and Cambodia are my starting point for this departure from figurative work; my work now investigates more the atmosphere than the detail, more the essence than the object. With more travels planned, I have recently moved back to Devon and is now working on locally inspired work.
I am a member of the Torbay Guild of Artists
