Blue Wave Bowl
Sarah Wilkinson
Sarah Wilkinson brings an environmental perspective to her art from across the globe. Born in Scotland, she looks to our natural and manmade environments for inspiration. Through her public art, photography, and glass, she takes a closer examination of how we impact our environments and how it impacts us. Water also plays a significant role in her practice.
Sarah was introduced to glass at the various glass studios and galleries in Seattle and attended a residential workshop at Pilchuck School of Glass, Washington, USA. She became hooked on the beauty of glass and waited a very long time to purchase her first kiln in lockdown late 2021.
The glaciers, snow and ice sheets around the world are melting at an alarming rate due to climate change and global warming. This glass piece was created during the European Heatwave in 2022.
