Arrival

Rebecca’s love of art began in childhood. At 16 she studied a BTEC, in Art and Design at Devon Technical College in the early 1990’s. She has begun painting again in 2014 after leaving her full time vet nursing job.

 

Rebecca is a mixed media artist based in Bishopsteignton in Devon. She mainly works with Acrylics and Acrylic Inks. Her main body of work is reflective of her past career as a Veterinary Nurse with a series of wildlife paintings.  Her varied approach to her subjects is with open mind and intuitive.

 

“I love painting on wooden board, there is a lovely “brush feel” when the brush passes over the wood. Wood is a soft and organic surface to paint on and lends itself nicely to my subjects, being a natural medium itself and provides a nice wood grain texture if I want it to peep through the paint”.

 

“I paint from my head and my heart. When I feel like painting an intricately, illustrative creature, I do so, or if I wish to get my larger brushes out and pallet knife and work less intensely then I delve into developing my new body of abstract work”.
