Des Maxwell Clark
My work is almost entirely in watercolour - a challenging medium - but one that suits my realistic and painstaking style of work. I enjoy subjects of all types from landscapes and seascapes to botanical work, items of food and other still life - in fact anything that engages my attention, presents itself as a challenge and requires a good degree of planning and experimentation.
My paintings hang in many private collections both in the UK and abroad. I have exhibited at London's Mall Galleries in the Society of Botanical Artists' and Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours' open exhibitions. I have also exhibited several times in the former South West Academy in Exeter. Each piece of work can take several weeks or even months to complete. I live in Devon and sketch from life and the landscape every day.
