Hand Finished Reduction Linoprint by Alexandra Robb
After the Storm
Alexandra Robb
I am an artist /printmaker, having just moved from London to Torquay. My work focuses very much on the natural world, both wildlife and landscape. I am hugely inspired by the landscapes and seascapes of South Devon and am looking forward to doing a lot of exploring!
I am trained in fine art but now work principally with lino print, which I fee best expresses my love of colour. I often add collage elements to finished prints too, creating unique prints. In addition, I work as a wood engraver as I feel as a print medium there is nothing that can render fine detail so effectively.
Working on small boxwood blocks with incredibly fine tools, it is an exacting but very rewarding medium. I work with wood engraver Chris Daunt to run wood engraving workshops, currently in Northumberland and London but hopefully in Devon in the future. I have exhibited widely in the past and last year had my print Calm Before the Storm, showing a crow with Corbyns Head in the background hung in the Royal Academy summer show. The image was then chosen to be reproduced in their 2024 calendar.
